The image ‘Geboorte’ is a view of the emergence of new insights. These insights emerge from the waves of the time. It is similar to the birth of new life. By means of a peristaltic motion comes to the young child forth, is accessed something new. This movement is depicted by the ring-shaped base which serves as a pedestal. The image therefore needs from the bottom up to be ‘read’. As well as virtually all my images is this the bottom darker. This gives the extra weight and a clear base that prevents the image too is hovering in the perception of the viewer.
